Garden Mix Stitch Markers

Although it's been over 2 decades
since the last time I did crochet,
I've been making stitch markers
in the last few years
just because I enjoy creating them.

This garden mix set have double loops,
which can be used in either knitting or crochet.
Set of 6

 Your friends will envy you
when they see these set in your collection.
This classic glass pearls set
are looking for a new owner.

More Recycled 4-H Entries

I think this is my fave entry
from the 4-H Exhibit Building.
A bunch of brooches
made of scrap fabrics, ribbons and trims.

A bin covered with rolled paper beads.

Dresses out of newspaper.
And a red prom dress made of duct tape!

IA map from license plates!

Terraniums

Terraniums from the 4H entries.
I love all of them.

Big Pumpkin And Big Boars

At 1,024 lbs
this pumpkin won a third place!
So imagine how heavy the first place is.

Presenting...
the BIG BOAR winner!
I'm not sure how heavy the winner is
as the info was not available yet when checked it out.

 The second BIG BOAR
weighs a whooping 1,174 lbs.

One of my younger brothers loves raising pigs.
Wish our pigs back home
can be as big as these big boars!

Recycled Pop Cans

DH was already dressed when I woke up around 5:30AM.
I had a quick shower, gather my stuffs,
then off we go to the fair around 6AM.
By 7:10AM, we're already at the fairground's parking lot.
I took so many pictures today,
so I'll try to share some of my favorites.
Hope you'll enjoy them too!

One of my fave place to visit at the fair is the 4H building.
As a recycler and nature lover myself,
it always give me pleasure to find repurposed entries.
Not to mention these HS students
are very creative in their way.

I would love to make this primitive welcome piece!
Who says you can't do much with pop cans?
Isn't this fish adorable?

How many pop cans do you think were used in here?

Isn't this cool?
I would love a table like this in my craft area.

Straight Wind Storm In Central IA

One month ago today,
central IA was hit by a horrible straight wind storm,
a whooping strong 120MPH.
As a result, more than 10 of our trees fell on the ground.

The biggest and oldest being 100+ years old
was hit by a lightning...
and decided to land on our roof.

MIL had a fair share of the storm too.
One of the door from her old barn
flew up in the air --- as you see in this photo.

The town where a  family friend lives,
in Garwin, has more damages.
This house is just 2 houses away from our friend's house.

Still in Garwin...
this trees was surely hit by a lightning.

We're not done cleaning the lawn yet,
but we've burned a lot already.
Hopefully, everything will be cleaned up before wintertime.

IA State Fair: Nothing Compares

Hear ye, hear ye!
It's State Fair time already!

This year's theme is NOTHING COMPARES!
Check out the site for fun activities.

This is the first time since I got here
that we we'll not go at the first day of the fair.
I've been teasing DH today, "How sad is that? LOL

On the positive note,
we'll be there early morning tomorrow
until our feet hurts!

Empty Bullet Shells Shoulder Duster Earrings

I had a tremendous fun making these earrings
as they're the longest one I have ever made.
They are true shoulder dusters with a tip-to-tip length of 7.5 inches.
Something unusual with them are the use of .22 empty bullet shells as focals.
I'm proud to say that these had been sold last week to Kirsten of IL.
I have more empty shells for my next duster earrings...
keep watching my shop for new listings!

My First Etsy Sale

These loop earrings found a new home within a week my shop was opened.
Thanks to Sandra of VA for purchasing them on June 12th.
She was also my first buyer! Thanks heaps Sandy.
These 2 pairs went to the same person --- to Brittany of Las Vegas.
I still have enough supplies to make something similar,
so if you want any of these earrings,
don't hesitate to send me an email,
leave a comment on this post or go to my shop.
